In spring of this year, I was contacted very unexpectedly by a local singer and musician called Dwayne Humphrey. Dwayne was already the front man for a successful local band called Mask. While still committed to his band, he was also compiling is debut album as a solo artist.
He was looking for a ballet dancer to feature in the music video for his song ‘Lasts Forever’.
And so our journey began!
I choreographed the dance for Abbie (14 years) who is one of my senior students at Fiona L Campbell Ballet. We spent hours rehearsing and perfecting each move!
In May a professional videographer was assigned to shoot the viedo. In September the final video edit was completed. What an impressive performance from Abbie. The perfect visuals for a great song.
On October 28th, Dwayne’s solo album ‘Taming Demons’ was released. It is hard to believe that our journey has come to an end. Abbie and I enjoyed every minute.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my thanks to Abbie for her stunning performance, focus and professionalism and to Dwayne for this opportunity.
